With the prestigious Climate Pledge Friendly recognition, we highlight our leadership in the environmental fight. This international certification validates our efforts in carbon offsetting and ocean protection. Through certified projects and the collection of marine plastics, we are making a significant difference for a cleaner and more sustainable planet.
Carbon Offsetting and Ocean Protection: A Global Strategy
The carbon offsetting projects we support are internationally certified and implemented across various geographies. For every ton of CO2 we neutralize through these projects, we contribute to an additional effort: preventing 10 kg of plastic waste from entering the ocean.
Solar Energy in India: Our projects in the states of Maharashtra, Orissa, Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh, India, focus on sustainable electricity generation through solar energy (climatepartner.com/1390). This initiative not only reduces carbon emissions but also supports sustainable development in the region.
Wind Farms in the Philippines and Aruba: On the Philippine island of Luzon (climatepartner.com/1091) and in Aruba (climatepartner.com/1040), our wind farms are establishing a clean and renewable alternative to electricity generated from fossil fuels, marking a significant shift towards energy independence and sustainability.
Our Additional Commitment to the Oceans
In addition to carbon offsetting, we are committed to collecting 10 kg of plastic for every ton of CO2 offset. This effort not only helps clean our seas but also contributes to improving the livelihoods of local communities, creating a positive environmental and social impact.
The Critical Role of Oceans in Global Climate
Oceans play a crucial role in climate regulation. They store a quarter of atmospheric CO2 and absorb 93% of the heat generated by the greenhouse effect. However, factors such as global warming, overfishing, and pollution, including the more than 8 million tons of plastic that end up in the sea each year, are jeopardizing this vital balance.
Our initiative represents a holistic approach to combating climate change and protecting our oceans.
By combining carbon offsetting with ocean protection, we are not only addressing CO2 emissions but also taking concrete steps to reduce plastic pollution.
This joint effort is an essential step towards a more sustainable future and a healthier planet.
