La huella verde de MAIA: Liderando con acción y certificación Climate Pledge Friendly

The Green Footprint of MAIA: Leading with Action and Climate Pledge Friendly Certification

Climate Pledge Friendly Certification: Our Environmental Impact

With the prestigious Climate Pledge Friendly certification, we underscore our leadership in environmental stewardship.

This international certification validates our efforts in carbon offsetting and ocean protection. Through certified projects and the collection of marine plastics, we are making a significant difference for a cleaner and more sustainable planet.

Carbon Offsetting and Ocean Protection: A Global Strategy

The carbon offset projects we support are internationally certified and implemented across diverse geographies. Each ton of CO2 we neutralize through these projects contributes to an additional effort: preventing 10 kg of plastic waste from entering the ocean.

1. Solar Energy in India: Our projects in Maharashtra, Orissa, Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh, India, focus on sustainable electricity generation through solar energy ( This initiative not only reduces carbon emissions but also supports sustainable development in the region.

2. Wind Farms in the Philippines and Aruba: On the Philippine island of Luzon ( and in Aruba (, our wind farms are establishing a clean and renewable alternative to fossil fuel-generated electricity, marking a significant shift toward energy independence and sustainability.

Our Additional Commitment to the Oceans

In addition to carbon offsetting, we pledge to collect 10 kg of plastic for every ton of CO2 offset. This effort not only helps clean our seas but also contributes to improving the livelihoods of local communities, creating a positive environmental and social impact.

The Critical Role of Oceans in Global Climate

Oceans play a crucial role in climate regulation. They store a quarter of atmospheric CO2 and absorb 93% of the heat generated by the greenhouse effect. However, factors like global warming, overfishing, and pollution, including the over 8 million tons of plastic entering the sea each year, threaten this vital balance.

Our initiative represents a holistic approach to combating climate change and protecting our oceans.

By combining carbon offsetting with ocean protection, we are not only addressing CO2 emissions but also taking concrete steps to reduce plastic pollution.

This joint effort is an essential step toward a more sustainable future and a healthier planet.
